Four Mile Food Co: Reviews & Ratings

Love the concept, but it has its flaws. Parking is extremely limited and I would caution against driving further inside if the few spots out front are taken because of how narrow it is. A lot of the food I've tried has been really good (Xi An, Que Rico and Jamaican Breeze!) but when there are issues with orders it is impossible to get help - specifically naming Lolita's Filipino restaurant, where my order took over an hour to be ready and no one would come to the counter to give me an update or even let me cancel it, after repeatedly requesting help through the tablet.

Most important thing first of all, this isn't a food court. It's an automated food pickup place. The parking is a nightmare. Think those Amazon lockers at Whole Foods except for food. They have multiple kitchens inside offering different kinds of food. You order online, when ready, get a link to unlock a locker where your food is, and pick it up. Is the food good? We got Xian Chinese noodles and Jamaican jerk chicken, along with unusual drinks like Guava and Tamarind. Overall, not bad, and I'd give it 4/5 stars. It's not the best out there. I definitely won't drive an hour up there again or struggle to park. The drinks were about $8 on average, and they do not justify the price tag. In other words, skip the drinks. Try the food, sure. There's no atmosphere here because there are no places to sit. Everyone comes to pick up food. If you live in the area, avoid the headache and just order delivery.

Ordered the Spicy & Sour Lamb Dumplings for lunch from the Four Mile Food Co, off Glebe road. I could have gotten it spicer, but stick with regular spicy since it was my first time, but not my last! Ordering was seamless and so was pick up. I can see how parking can be an issue when ordering at lunchtime or dinner rush but don't let that stop you from checking out this ghost kitchen.

I honestly don't understand the bad reviews. I found out about four mile food co because I reached out to them back in April when they announced Xi'an famous foods from NY will be coming to town. I immediately DMed them and they responded to let me know that it'll be soon. Then in June when it finally opened they actually reached out to let me know!! Honestly that was the highlight for me. But then when I ordered it was simple. I ordered on the website. Sat in my car til it was ready. When it said it was ready I scanned that screen onto a tablet in the waiting area, and a little locker opened up and my food was inside. It was fresh and it was great. Zero complaints. I've been telling everyone to go to Four Mile Food Co to try all the food! Because I sure as hell will be going back! :)

This place is more of a hub for food deliveries and takeout. There's one small counter for maybe 2 people to dine in, but you'll be in a tiny space where people order and are waiting for their food to go. You can go in and order on a kiosk; there's a lot of different vendors available and a wide variety. I went because Xi'an Famous Foods was here. We went to nearby Fraser Park to eat our noodles. SO GOOD. Oh yeah parking sucks, it's really tight. Maybe park further away and walk, or if you live nearby, just doordash it.

Four Mile Food Co, nestled at 1033 W Glebe Rd in Alexandria, VA, is a distinctive culinary hub redefining how we grab a meal on the go. Unlike traditional food courts, this innovative ghost kitchen operates as an automated food pickup spot where multiple kitchens coexist under one roof. You order online from various vendors, spanning diverse cuisines like Xi’an Chinese noodles, Jamaican jerk chicken, and Filipino specialties, then retrieve your freshly prepared dishes from smart lockers once notified. This seamless blend of technology and gastronomy brings efficiency and variety to food lovers, especially those craving authentic flavors without the fuss of dining in.

What stands out most about Four Mile Food Co is the quality and authenticity of the food offerings. The Xi’an noodles are perfectly chewy with bold, rich sauces. Jamaican Breeze delivers the signature spicy jerk punch, balanced with tender chicken that leaves a lasting impression. I was also captivated by the Spicy & Sour Lamb Dumplings—a dish that marries depth of flavor with just the right heat, ideal for first-timers yet tempting enough for repeat visits.

However, despite the culinary wins, the experience isn’t without its hurdles. Parking poses a significant challenge, as the lot is small and the driveways narrow, making it impractical during peak hours. Many customers suggest ordering delivery or picking up on foot if local. Another limitation is the absence of a proper dining space—this is strictly a pickup spot, so the atmosphere is minimal, focusing purely on efficiency and convenience.

Communication and order management can sometimes falter, as some patrons have reported delays and difficulty reaching staff for updates or cancellations. Still, these seem isolated against the backdrop of mostly positive experiences highlighting prompt ordering, fresh food, and innovation in food service.

Ultimately, Four Mile Food Co shines as a beacon for adventurous eaters and busy locals seeking authentic, diverse dishes without a dine-in commitment. Its smart-locker system and multi-kitchen model reflect the future of food pickup, balancing taste and technology. For anyone looking to explore vibrant global flavors—from Xi’an to Jamaica—with minimal hassle, Four Mile Food Co is worth a visit or at least a trial order.
